Originally an apprentice at Morson, Charlie Green has rapidly progressed in his rail journey with the company to become the brilliant Trainer/Assessor he is today. Alongside his full-time role with Morson Training, Charlie also trains and competes in white-collar boxing bouts and represented Team Morson in his recent close decision loss last month:

It was three, two-minute rounds and I ended up getting beat on points against a guy who’s had a lot more experience. Even though I got beat, I really enjoyed the night and it was still a pleasure to represent Morson.

Having Morson in the corner, supporting me with training and equipment throughout the camp has been a help to me and they support a lot of high-level athletes across the country, especially homegrown which is great as well.

Charlie also discussed how he manages to balance his work alongside his training and the fights themselves:

Getting that work life/boxing life balance can be difficult sometimes, but the good thing with Morson is I always know where I am going to be working and if I’m doing a little bit of traveling here and there. It’s good travelling with work, I can get a little look round the different areas and book-in at different gyms while I’m away and still use the gym there as well. It’s quite easy to plan things around and most of the sparring gets done on a weekend, so that’s not really an issue.

The support of the Morson family is something Charlie always feels heading into the ring and he is looking forward to seeing his colleagues at his next fight:

I always feel the support of Morson Training in the build-up to a fight. They’re always checking in to see how training is going, spurring me on with the runs on my lunch breaks at the office and wishing me good look heading in to the fight and on the night of the fight as well. I know for the next one, quite a lot of people from the office are going to come down and watch it, which will be even better!

We at Morson Training and the wider Morson Group are very proud to see Charlie represent Team Morson each time he competes in the boxing ring and we look forward to cheering him on in his next bout.
